Use the guidelines on this page to set-up your mail account in Outlook Express.
The Outlook Express email program has something called a mail wizard which takes you step by step through the process of setting up an email account. There are 4 steps:
1.set your display name – this is the name that everyone receiving your emails will see in the inbox
2.set your email address
3.set your mail server details
4.set your logon details – your user name and password.
Getting Started
If you do not yet have an email account set-up the wizard will start automatically when you start Outlook Express. Or you can select from the menu Tools, then Accounts... and in the window that opens select Add and Mail...
Step One – Your Name
In the first box that opens enter your name. This will be the name that everyone sees in the From column in their inbox and in message headers.
When you have entered your name click Next
Step Two – Your Email Address
In the next window, enter your email address. We have used thesaltedfish.com.kh as an example. You should enter your actual email address
After entering your email address click Next
Step Three – Your Email Servers
In the next window enter your server names. Your incoming server is a POP3 server so leave the default setting as it is. Enter your incoming and outgoing mailservers. These will be similar to the one included in the example:
- the word mail
- then a fullstop .
- then your internet address
Again we have used thesaltedfish.com.kh as an example – you should put your own internet address.
Click next
Step Four – Your Logon Details
On the next window enter your entire email address for the account name, the same as you did at step 2 above. Then enter the password that you gave us when you requested we set-up your email account.
Then click Finish and Outlook Express is configured to send and receive your mail.
